Two short-term radon gas detectors. these can be used for tests between 7 and 90 days.
This package is designed for customers who are purchasing a new home. We can post the detectors direct to the vendors or the Estate Agents so they can place on your behalf.
What’s included
- 2 * 7-day detectors (1 main living room – 1 main bedroom)
- 1 * Return postage included using Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm® direct to the lab to save delays.
- Additional detectors can be added at checkout.
After the test has completed the vendor or Estate Agents just need to seal the detectors in the provided Special Deliver bag, this has a pre-paid stamp, then take to the Post Office and obtain proof of postage.
Results are emailed to the email address registered when you purchase the kit.
ALL Detectors need to be placed once received, if this is not possible they can be frozen in your freezer for up to 1-month from the dispatch date. Please only open the package for the pods once you are ready to place the detectors.

Do short term detectors give an accurate reflection of radon levels?
It’s best to keep a note of the external weather conditions when the detectors are placed in the property. If there is a lot of rain then the results can be higher, if the weather is dryer then the results can be lower. 3-month testing helps to give a better average result.
All short term detectors from any supplier do not fall under the scope of PHE validation, as PHE only recommends 3-month tests.
Commercial customers, please note: The results from a short-term radon test cannot be used for a radon risk assessment in a commercial environment.
